A collection of houses, each with a story of its own

There are places we visit. And places we carry with us.

The Collection

The Houses

Three houses: Lisboa, Sintra and Santar.

Valverde Lisboa

Someone reclines in a deep round window, photographing the rooftops of Lisbon.

Set on Avenida da Liberdade, Valverde Lisboa has the intimacy of a residential townhouse. Behind its discreet façade, the rhythm of the city softens. At its heart, hidden from the Avenida, is a garden with a heated pool and Bougain Avenida.

Valverde Sintra

The pale façade of the Seteais palace above a long pool, with loungers and parasols along the hedge.

Valverde Sintra Palácio de Seteais is an eighteenth-century palace in the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Frescoes associated with Jean-Baptiste Pillement still animate the walls of the Salão Nobre, and the gardens look towards the Serra de Sintra.

Valverde Santar

Low evening sun across the lawns of a manor house, with a stone path running beside its long façade.

In the historic village of Santar, among gardens and the vineyards of the Dão, Valverde Santar occupies Casa das Fidalgas, an aristocratic residence restored over about four years. The spa sits in the former wine cellar, and the rhythm of the house follows the seasons rather than the clock.
